Over the Whale’s Acre is a concert fanfare for brass and percussion, and takes its title from a line in “The Seafarer,” an ancient Anglo-Saxon poem.
- "Ich will nur dir zu Ehren leben" from Christmas Oratorio
The Christmas Oratorio was written for the Christmas season of 1734, incorporating music from earlier compositions, which included three secular cantatas written during 1733 and 1734, and a now lost church cantata, BWV 248a.
- Strauss - "At the Summit" from Eine Alpensinfonie
Eine Alpensinfonie is the last of the many tone poems that Richard Strauss composed. David Miller transcribed 3 of the middle sections for Concert Band: On the Glacier, Perilous Moments, and At the Summit.

- Varietals for Trombone and Piano
Varietals was written in 2008 and first performed at Towson Trombone Day in 2009, and again at the 2010 Eastern Trombone Workshop in Washington, DC. The piece is dedicated to my friend and former colleague, Dr. Natalie Mannix, professor of trombone at Towson University, and it was she who premiered the work along with pianist Stephanie Armstrong. Natalie is a serious oenophile, so I thought it would be interesting to base my piece on different types of wine grapes, and to try to capture something of their essence in music.

- Bass Trumpet parts for Der Ring des Nibelungen
The Bass Trumpet parts to Richard Wagner's Ring cycle are usually played by trombonists. I have created concert pitch editions that are in tenor clef, removing the necessity to read the many transpositions. I have also used treble and bass clefs occasionally, depending on range. Das Rheingold and Die Walküre are currently available; Siegfried and Götterdämmerung will be available soon.
- Glinka - Ruslan and Ludmila Overture, ed. David J. Miller
This new edition of Glinka's beloved orchestral showpiece is the first not based upon the corrupt edition issued under the supervision of Hector Berlioz in the 19th century.
- Overture to The Magic Flute
I wanted to transcribe this overture as a tribute to Mozart’s historical use of the trombone section that ultimately provided for its permanent position in the opera orchestra. I used the Bärenreiter-Verlag Critical Edition as source material for articulations and dynamics.
- "Achieved Is the Glorious Work" from The Creation
This chorus from "The Creation" takes care to follow the lines and voice leading from the original version, and is a festive work for any occasion.
